WASHINGTON (Jan. 13, 2021) ­– The National Transportation Safety Board issued Safety Report 20/01 “Safety Risks to Emergency Responders from Lithium-Ion Battery Fires in Electric Vehicles” Jan. 13, 2021. This video summarizes that report and focuses on the safety risks to first and second responders posed by electric vehicles that are powered by high-voltage, lithium-ion batteries.
